About Us

Grimes Well Servicing was founded in 1979 and is an established family owned business with operational bases in Fort St. John B.C. and Estevan, Saskatchewan. Grimes provides service rigs and personnel to principal contractors to assist them in the completion or workover of their oil and gas wells. In addition to Fort St. John and Estevan, Grimes has an administration office in Edmonton, Alberta and a sales and marketing office in Calgary, Alberta.
President Gary Grimes has spearheaded his once small business into an independently-owned well servicing company with over 70 employees. Sons Kirk and Kevin Grimes have taken on leadership positions in the firm and oversee the operations of 11 rigs serving Northeastern British Columbia, Northern Alberta, Northwest Territories and Southern Saskatchewan.
Grimes is a service leader both in the field and in the service rig industry. Grimes has worked exclusively with the British Columbia government in the fabrication and regulatory approval of new well service equipment. Grimes also played a large part in having Tri-Steer drive rigs approved for use in British Columbia and Alberta. Grimes has also worked extensively with the CAODC and regulators for over 10 years to develop a memorandum of understanding that allows for a streamlined operating environment.
Grimes is a proud member of the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC), a powerful organization representing drilling and service rig contractors throughout Canada. Kirk Grimes-Operations Manager, serves as the British Columbia Chapter Chairman for the CAODC, and sits on the Enform BC advisory committee.
